Wireless connectivity in hazardous environments

June 2015 Industrial Wireless

There is an increasing need for wireless connectivity in hazardous mining environments, to support both the productivity and the safety of workers. The iWAP600, designed by Extronics specifically for use in mines, provides access to the very latest technology in an ATEX, IECEx and MSHA certified solution. Local IA certification will be supplied.

For optimum wireless coverage and reliability, the iWAP600 is powered by Cisco’s latest industry standard MIMO wireless hardware. Easy to install, the iWAP600’s ring in, ring out capability ensures the best configuration for use in mines and maximises usability. Additionally, the internal UPS system makes the iWAP600 a compact and lightweight solution, as well as providing added security in case AC power is lost.
