Wenglor’s product range for fluid engineering

January 2015 Flow Measurement & Control

German-based Wenglor has introduced a new measuring product range dedicated to the process measurement of fluids.

A process which is unique in the field of flow sensor technology allows the WenglorFluid devices to be mounted regardless of position and flow direction and still provide pre-cision measurements.

Easy to use due to their uniform design concept, the WenglorFluid sensor’s watertight plastic and stainless steel housings assure accurate performance. The large 7-segment display provides for easy, intuitive operation and the separate LED gives quick recognition of the switching status.

All of the sensors have a switching output which can be configured as either normally closed or normally open via the menu. If required, the sensors can be additionally equipped with an analog current or voltage output.

The range consists of:

• UniFlow sensors: these ascertain the flow velocities of oily and aqueous media in closed piping systems. They don’t have to be aligned to the direction of flow during installation as heating and the temperature sensor are located in the tip of the device. Even if the sensor is turned around, the switching point does not have to be readjusted. In addition, the UniFlow sensors can be mounted either parallel or perpendicular to the pipe which makes this installation option provide for maximum flexibility.

• UniBar pressure sensors: the sensor measures the relative pressure of any desired media in closed systems within a range of -1 to +600 bar. Wenglor pressure sensors with metallic membrane are highly suited for areas with strict hygiene requirements such as in food and pharmaceuticals. They are flush-mounted and therefore compatible with pipe cleaning devices.

• UniTemp temperature sensors: these measure the temperature of liquid and gaseous media and make it possible to monitor temperature within processes. They can be used under greatly varying ambient conditions as the switching points can be individually adjusted within a measuring range of 0 to 200°C.
