5,3 million switching operations for Jumo thermostats and still going strong

Tests conducted on Jumo’s EM panel-mount thermostat range to determine the service life proved the outstanding durability of these units. After 5,3 million switching operations at an average of one per minute, none of the 10 devices with a temperature controller function failed. For use in continuous operation this equates to 10 years service life.

The panel-mount thermostats enable efficient control of thermal processes without the use of auxiliary power. The devices operate according to the fluid expansion principle, where the filling liquid in the measuring system expands when warmed and a micro-switch is actuated via transmission mechanics.

In addition to the temperature controller version, the thermostat is also available as a temperature monitor or limiter. A safety monitor and limiter equipped with a self-monitoring function can also be used to meet more stringent requirements to protect any plant component against potential damage.
