The new Leuze LES 36 light section sensor simultaneously captures geometry and position data simultaneously, making it possible for one sensor to detect the height, width and position of an object. Previously, two sensor pairs with complex software programming would have been used to accomplish this, but the Leuze LES 36 line edge sensor does not operate using individual light spots. Instead, this compact and robust sensor projects a light beam using laser line lighting.
Both the laser and the receiver are housed in the easy to install unit and allow accurate object measurement in the mm range. The unit offers a measurement range extending up to 800 mm in depth and 600 mm in width. With four measurement windows and equipped with 16 predefined configuration inspection settings, it is simple to customise the sensor to individual application requirements.
The unit can be directly interfaced with Ethernet, Profibus or an analogue unit and is backed by full support via the company’s technical hotline.
