Endress+Hauser ended 2011 with financial figures far exceeding expectations. Net sales increased by 16 percent to €1,5 billion, operating profit rose by 32% to €247 million and earnings before taxation increased by 46% to €243 million. Net income exceeded to €177 million, another record-high figure, and the equity ratio reached almost 70%. Endress+Hauser has over €443 million in liquid assets, with just €40 million in bank liabilities. The organisation currently employs 9414 people around the globe, 820 more than last year.
The Group achieved the largest growth in the oil and gas industry, the Enterprise Framework Agreement with energy group Shell showing that it has established itself as a serious supplier in this industry. Sales in the chemical industry developed strongly, followed by power and energy, food and beverage, primaries, life sciences and water and wastewater. Endress+Hauser has set a growth target of 11% for the current financial year.
