OMSA opens new Mount Edgecombe premises

July 2011 News

The OMSA Group, which established its Durban office some 20 years ago, is moving to bigger premises in Mount Edgecombe.

Building 2, Glen Eagle Park, 10 Flanders Drive, Mount Edgecombe.

OMSA originally opened in KwaZulu-Natal to offer lubrication equipment and services to local industry. Since then, the company has expanded in the region to offer its full range of products and technologies to the materials handling industry within the ports sector at Durban and Richards Bay, the KwaZulu-Natal sugar refiners, the pulp and paper industry as well as the general engineering, chemical and petrochemical operations based in the province.

The group offers lubrication devices, including manufactured oil and grease circulation systems for rotating machinery, as well as filtration systems including bulk fuel filtration, a comprehensive range of valves, tyre protection chains and a variety of instrumentation for measurement and data transmission of fluid parameters. The company also offers sample preparation and analytical equipment for the determination of impurities in boiler water.

OMSA has supplied sophisticated lubrication systems to some of the largest mills in the world, including Tarkwa Gold Mine in Ghana, Lumwana Copper Mine in Zambia and Mogalakwena Platinum Mine in the Limpopo Province. Sampling systems and analytical equipment for water treatment plants have been supplied to Eskom for various power station operations and bulk filtration systems have been supplied to diesel tank farms on gold mines in West Africa and protective tyre chains fitted to large earthmoving vehicles in iron ore and diamond mines as well as quarries and furnace slag operations.

The company provides a full engineering service through its large Field Services Division, giving customers immediate response to a crisis or technically problematic situation. Over the last two years, the group went through a number of positive transformations and restructuring with a major reorganisation of its processes and strategies as well as a rebranding exercise, which has created a more vibrant and dynamic image – one that fits the OMSA Group culture perfectly going forward.
