AMR Automations was established in 1996 focusing on factory automation using PLCs and scada. As a value-added systems integrator today, AMR Automations has strengthened its foundations and sharpened its focus. Its head office is in Epping, Cape Town, where the company offers turnkey automation solutions to custom suit industrial and commercial clients. AMR Automations follows current trends and developments in the automation and information technology arenas, to provide the best practised solutions, synchronising operations and business communications. The team is comprised of seven programmers and engineers, with a combined skill totalling over 25 years in PLC, scada, and .NET/SQL database programming. The company supplies LV panels and MCCs, built and tested in-house before installation, and shipped to clients countrywide.

Under its BEE skills development initiative, AMR Automations has broadened its spectrum and formed a company, Designlabstudios (www.designlabstudios.com), which provides a quality service to its clients, undertaking expressive web development and working with print media technologies. The company is affiliated to a Cape Town-based FET college, Hospitality and Commercial College (www.hacc.co.za), which offers training and cost effective skills development to the previously disadvantaged. The company is committed to upgrading and maintaining the college's IT centre and facilitating with staff recruitments.
