Operator Interfaces, Switches & Relays

10 A semiconductor relay is only 6,2 mm wide

November 2000 Operator Interfaces, Switches & Relays

A high switching frequency coupled with the need for a long life span is often too much for the standard electromechanical relay. The advantage of using the solid-state relay, from the MIRO product line, is they function without a mechanical contact. 6,2 mm width and a maximum switching current of 10 A make this product one of the slimmest solid-state relays on the market.

With the new reversing circuit, the direction of DC motors can be selected. Via two separate inputs, the user can switch the start/stop mode as well as the left/right rotation. An integrated overvoltage protection circuit switches off the motor automatically when there is an overvoltage condition. At the same time the LED indicator immediately shows the error.

Every year EMV-spikes cause damage to unprotected electrical components, costing millions of rands every year in unprotected electronic components. The MOP-module in the 6,2 mm MIRO line prevents this. The MOP protects signal and data cables to EN50082-2 for overvoltages and surges.
