In response to a request from one of its international distributors, Adroit Technologies has launched a plug-in that enables VIZNET to directly plug into CitectScada 7.0. This provides a centralised portal for a distributed Citect environment within a .NET enabled smart user interface. The smart UI also offers the capability of providing a rich user experience hosted directly within Internet Explorer.
The solution, a direct data-source, allows for seamless integration from CItect into the VIZNET Enterprise Manager allowing for data collaboration between Adroit, Citect and various other sources of data including OPC, Web Services and any OLEDB provider (such as SQL Server). All the functionality that is inherent to the VIZNET information portal, such as data and client security, trends, alarms, tag views as well as the Windows Forms Designer including C# and VB.NET scripting is available.
The VIZNET information portal (VIP) meets challenge of creating a complete integrated solution through a single relevant view of the data retrieved from multiple functional areas of a business. The primary purpose of VIZNET is to collaborate with a number of sources and enable data to be accessed and manipulated from one or more local, LAN or Internet client. VIZNET consists of one or more servers connected to one or more clients.
VIZNET also has a Web interface, which effectively allows advanced users to develop applications that can interact bi-directionally with the VIZNET Server. There is an SDK available which defines the methods for connecting to the server and the functions that can be used to access and interact with the resident data-sources or data elements.
