The SAIMC would like to express its sincere sympathies to the engineering fraternity during this difficult time. The passing away of du Toit Grobler has been distressful to all of us. Given his meaningful contributions towards engineering professional bodies, governmental and educational institutions and towards the South African Civil society at large, it will take a long time for us to come to grips with this loss.
du Toit Grobler.
du Toit will be remembered not only as a servant, creative, thoughtful and a pragmatic engineer, but as a warm and caring friend, and a devoted mentor who always put the needs of others before his own. It was indeed a profound privilege for SAIMC to work with du Toit during the roll out of the new registration systems (NRS) adopted by the engineering council of South Africa (ECSA). His unwavering sense of humility and genuine demeanour is a legacy we shall all remember.
Please join us in expressing our deepest condolences to du Toit’s family, friends, colleagues and associates.
